- Comments by Lena Kochian, SU GEAR UP Project Director, from the Syracuse University GEAR UP 5 Year Report "In its final year, Syracuse University GEAR UP focused on setting priorities for students as they entered the commmencement of the SU GEAR UP Program. The reauthorization efforts will focus on the relationships between Syracuse University, local public schools and the entire community. We have learned much over the past five years about GEAR UP qualities, interventions and supports. Through this knowledge and experience our second phase will be more determined. Partnerships develop and improve the community's well-being. This in turn, can only positively affect the socioeconomic status of our community, our schools and ultimately, our children." |
